petrino showed some interest in walter earlier this year and he seems like a perfect fit for the offense with his big arm. he shouldn't cost more than a 4th and he would allow us to hold off on taking a qb until 2009. we would go with leftwich/walter/shockley for next year with an improved o-line through the draft and free agency.

i'm not saying that he would be a sure fire future qb, but he would be worth the risk if we plan on rebuliding the o-line early in the draft next year instead of using a pick on a qb early in the draft.

wow, you want a guy who's been in the league 3 years and has done nothing. averaged 139 yards passing a game and has thrown 13 int to just 3 td's. please tell me what is so great about him??????? blink.gif

i never said i wanted him, petrino wanted him, obviously something is great about him if he was drafted in the 3rd round and our hc wants him.

well you've got to take in the account that he's played for oakland. i'm going to have to use the example of randy moss again on this one.

i would support this move...

just because walter played on a terrible, terrible raiders team; doesnt make him a bust yet...
petrino is supposed to be a qb guru, and as far as i can see walter has the goods for him to try and mold.

mckay doesnt like gambling with late round picks though, otherwise we would have gaither starting at lt
in our next game... mad.gif

at this point i would much rather have anderson. i had my doubts on him, but he seems pretty solid to me. 17 tds, 8 ints qb rating approaching 100 on the season.

and he loves to go downfield. petrino would be lucky to be able to work with this guy. not to mention he is like 6'6" and has great field vision. oh and then there is the canon arm.

bring home derek anderson! i am on the bandwagon now......helps that i am also a cle fan though i guess.

um, no!

he's not our future franchise qb.

plus, who would back-up quinn? a rookie? cleveland would be stupid to get rid of him.
